This pic sums up two of my biggest passions - the Annual 12 Hours of Sebring race in Florida, and my 1992 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo.

My z32 in the pits at the Sebring International Raceway, during a Speed Venture event, June, 2003.

Sebring is my Mecca.  I go to the 12 Hours of Sebring race every year in March with the same group of guys since high school.  I first went in 1970 with my dad, when I was a pup.  We brought a brand new Honda 350 Scrambler motorcycle with us in a U-Haul trailer.  The U-Haul doubled as our sleeping quarters.  That was the year Mario Andretti won in Sebring's closest finish ever, at that time.  Andretti's Ferrari broke down an hour before the end of the race.  He was transplanted to a Ferrari driven by the team of Giunti-Vaccarella that was running in fourth position.  In an amazing finish, Andretti somehow sprinted to first place, winning by 22 seconds over actor Steve McQueen and Peter Revson.  Many fans consider that year to be the best Sebring race of all time.

The track layout is shown by the heavy black line, which is 3.7 miles.  This is road course style racing with speeds ranging from 35-40 mph in the hairpin, to over 200 mph in the back straight away.

Audi R8's  dominated Sebring for many years.  This is IMSA sanctioned, ALMS style racing.

I finally realized another dream of mine when I first got to take my Z on the SIR in June, 2003.  Here are some shots of me coming into the hairpin, and reeling in a BMW Z4.
