This was the second time I replaced the hood struts, in 2012.  Do the math, the car was born in 1987 so the struts lasted about twelve years before they gave out.

Snow scraper being used to prop hood open  after struts would no longer do the job. I used Amazon.com to order my struts from Life Supports Depot.

"Strong Arm"  brand packaging and instructions that came with the struts.  Included nut, bolt and washer for the upper mount only.  I reused the old hardware.

16mm socket and 10mm box wrench used to remove the upper end of the strut from the mounting  bracket attached to the hood.

Large Phillips screwdriver was needed to remove the lower end of the strut.

Price on  Amazon.com was $33.90 for two struts, including shipping.
